DISCOVERY BIBLE CLUBS. . . a youth ministry with a purpose!
Discovery Bible Clubs is a youth ministry offered at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. This ministry is designed for kids from age 4 through the 6th grade. We hope, through the leadership of God and the direction of His church, to help your child develop and understand some basic Bible principles.
There are three main sessions during the weekly Bible Clubs meetings:
Assembly Time: A Bible lesson is presented along with other Bible-centered activities.
Club Time: Club members work in their individual manuals and recite memorized Scriptures.
Activity Time: Children engage in activities and crafts geared towards their age group.
Awards for achievements are presented for completion of manuals, Scripture memorization, perfect attendance, and other Christian service functions, such as bringing visitors to Discovery. Discovery Bible Clubs encourage children to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, while offering an opportunity to learn more about God, His Word, and His will for their lives.
Bible Clubs is for children age four through grade six and is divided into four clubs.
Four and five year olds are Helpers
Grades one and two are Watchmen
Grades three and four are Warriors
Grades five and six are Champions
You are invited to attend this program at 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm each Wednesday evening.
TEEN BIBLE STUDY
Also, for grades seven through high school we offer a weekly fellowship on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The meeting focuses on bible study, fellowship, and learning more about what God has in store and what God expects. Teen Bible Study is a youth program for teenagers which provides opportunity for personal and group Bible study and encourages participation in Christian service in their local church.
GUMBY (God's United Missionary Baptist Youth)
GUMBY is a group of youth ages Jr. High to 21 that meet on the first Thursday of each month. The purpose of the group is to have fellowship, have fun, and encourage participation in the church and in the community. This is accomplished by planning monthly activities from movie nights, trips to entertainment parks, planning youth rallies, community involvement or combined youth events. There is a lot to do in GUMBY! Come and look for the next GUMBY event!
